I think NQ might make an interesting area to question job applicants. Might make an interesting part of a teacher evaluation or a metric for PLC effectiveness.

You are on to something here.  Ask teachers that are interviewing or for their performance evals what networks they are involved with that they have access to on a daily basis.  If none, then there is a good chance they might not be bringing the desire to find answers and improve regularly to the table?

Teacher evaluation would be an interesting area to incorporate the NQ. That would shift some focus away from what is done in the single classroom to what have you done for the entire team. Sounds like a way to encourage collegiality and discourage isolationism.

Absolutely, you guys are right on with this line of thinking. It is probably more important for a new teacher to be willing to learn and work together with a team of other teachers than (as one example) to be super knowledgeable in their field and unwilling to listen to feedback or input from others. (I'm sure we can think of a few of those from our own experience!)
